Denzel Curry grew up in Carol City, Florida for nineteen years. He wrote poetry in Elementary School, then in sixth grade, he got into rapping. He used to go to a Boys & Girls Club where he challenged some people to rap battles, but he would always lose to his mentor.He attended Miami's Design And Architecture High School for his first two years of high school. After getting kicked out of DASH, Curry then attended Miami Carol City Senior High School where he started creating Nostalgic 64 while trying to graduate.
